Families with a child being treated at a local hospital may be eligible to stay at either the Northern Virginia or Washington D.C., Ronald McDonald House®. Families may stay one night, one week or a few months, if necessary. A social worker from the admitting hospital must make the initial referral. Families are admitted based on available rooms, medical priorities, and distance traveled.
Each family staying with us has a private bedroom and access to a full kitchen, laundry room, living room, playroom, and outside play areas. We ask for a $10 donation per night, but families are never turned away for financial reasons.
If you or someone you know can use our services, please have them contact the hospital where the child is being treated or call the Washington, D.C. House at (202) 529-8204 or the Northern Virginia House at (703) 698-7080.
Share-A-Night
Although nightly operating costs are approximately $70 per room, per night, as little as $10 can help underwrite a family’s overnight stay. No family is ever turned away due to their inability to contribute. You could give the gift of time and family to help a sick child by donating to Share-A-Night today. Click here to Donate
Want to double your contribution? Ask your employer about potential matching gift opportunities. You may simply need to complete a form to increase the impact of your gift!
