In 2009, 2,100 underserved kids in D.C. Wards 5, 6, 7 and 8 received free health care services from the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®.

In association with Georgetown University Hospital, this mobile “doctor’s office on wheels” provides improved access to health care where children need it most – in the community. All children under the age of 21 are eligible for care, whether or not they have medical insurance. Free services include: primary care, well child visits, newborn exams, immunizations and ophthalmologic exams, as well as social service and mental health consultations. The mission is not only effective diagnoses and treatment, but preventive care through health education and advocacy. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is unique in its holistic approach to delivering health care, successfully working with families to help them both improve and maintain their health.
